So on Sunday I was catching up on last week's home and away. And Heath Braxton's behaviour gotsme thinking.
So for people who watch home and away ye will know that Heath hasz enrolled himself in a fitness instructor course. Quick background to Heath Braxton for non home and away fans. Heath is the middle of 3 riverboy brothers, he also has a half brother. As a teenager Heath spent time in prison. And he has had his fair share of run ins with the cops, as have his family over the years. He dropped out of school. Heath's oldest brother has just been sent to prison for a crime he committed when he was younger. Heath is married to the principle of the local high school and works in the local gym.
So what did Heath do to get me thinking? Well over the last while he has really been trying to turn his life around, the latest change he is making is the course he has enrolled in. on Thursdays episode Heath had given up on the study as he believed he was useless and had no chance. However in Friday's episode we saw him bump into an old teacher. It was obvious that this old teacher didn't like or think much of Heath. Rather than letting her negativity further knock his confidence after the little run in Heath was more determined to return to his study for the course and prove this old teacher wrong.
So what am I getting at? As the title of this post says, self confidence. Our confidence can be knocked by other people who don't like us or think much of us. Some people don't believe others can change so if they knew us many years ago when we were always getting into trouble they are going to still think that we are useless. Everyone is entitled to their opinion however it how we let their opinion affect us that matters. We can admit defeat without even trying or maybe their little dig of how much of a failure we are is just what we need to motivate ourselves to keep trying, stick with it, not give up and prove to thar person we can be successful. it is always possible for a person to change if they really want to.
