A couple of years ago we had an English priest speaking at a retreat. One thing he said that weekend stuck with me. I will forever carry it with me.
He said,
"The past is history, the future is a mystery, the present is a gift."
Make the most of now, live in the present. Stop worrying about what has happened, no amount of worrying will change it. And don't think ahead as you nobody knows what the future holds. If we are living in the past or spending our time worrying about what might happen in the future we will miss the now and the gifts now has to offer.
